Dry Wear
How often should I get my suits dry cleaned? I have to wear suits to work, but I am new at this....?

My job makes me wear a suit to work. I own 3 suits. I've been told that dry cleaning ruins suits. How often should I have them dry cleaned? I've never had them cleaned, only aired + Febreezed.

Please someone with some suit experience tell me!

Also, how do you iron a suit? I don't want to ruin them.

Thanks!

I used to wear suits to work all the time. I would use the Dryell home dry cleaning kits. I would Dryell the pants every time I wore them, and the jackets every 2 or 3 times I wore them, because I had a shirt on under the jackets. Because the Dryell is slightly damp after it's done in the dryer fluffing around, I would never have wrinkles, I would hang them up right out of the dryer. When you do have to iron them, my mom taught me to steam them. Take a thin cotton cloth, like a thin dish towel, or an old cut up cotton blouse. Set the iron to medium, place the garment on the ironing board, place the cotton cloth on the garment, spray water onto the cloth (I use a spray water bottle), and iron. If it's not a little loud and steamy, add more water. Make sure the cloth is always between the iron and
garment. The garment may not be completely dry, but dry enough to wear.
